This week we explored Habit 1 by sorting things into "Things I Can Control" and "Things I Cannot Control."
Using hole punchers is a fantastic way for little writers to build their hand muscles. Combined with some name decorating... Friday success!
This week our new principal, Mr. Eisele, visited the Lion Room to read a very special book sent to him by Governor Snyder. He read us a book about manners called "Do Unto Otters." It was a hilarious read filled with puns. The children really enjoyed our guest reader; they also heard the continued importance of using our manners.
This week we read The Carrot Seed for Reader's Workshop. Not only does this book tie into Habit 1: Be Proactive, but it was a great opportunity for me to bring some carrots in from my garden and share with the students!
This week we enjoyed movement breaks brought to us by www.gonoodle.com. These interactive activities allow students to freely move to music to get those wiggles out!
On Friday we wrote our Class Contract. We brainstormed things that would make our classroom run smoothly so that we can learn as much as we can. I must say, I am proud of the results! These will serve as our classroom rules. Each lion signed their name as a promise to uphold them.
